His & Hers vacation

My sweetie and I agree on lots of things. Politics, economics, parenting, religion, and all the other BIG debates aren't a problem for us, but when it comes to the little things, we are sometimes exact opposites.

I think cookies should be chewy, he prefers crunchy.
I'm a book girl, he would rather read the newspaper.
I like to keep the house locked tight, he doesn't like carrying keys all the time.
I prefer to sleep with lots of blankets, he likes to sleep with the windows open.

Vacation is another example.
This is my husband's idea of vacation:
Not exactly my style. I can't imagine the idea of spending a week of building, sweating, and working, and being able to call it "relaxing." To him, this is fun. It is what makes life enjoyable.

I'm kinda' the other end of the spectrum. This is my end of the same vacation:
I'm more of a swing/read/explore/nap kind of vacationer. The good news is that we were able to get a bit of both built into the last few weeks.

Oh yeah, he likes the nap part of vacation too. :o)

Shameless cuteness

We were sprucing up the grounds at church last week when I snapped this photo (while I was supposed to be working). My little lady was so excited to play outdoors that night. She tasted a few rocks, pushed her fingers through the dirt, and smiled a lot. I think we were more of a distraction than a help to the crew that was actually working. Good thing we had to get home for an early bedtime.

Eagles on Blueberry Island

I promised to post better photos of our eagles. Aren't these guys amazing?
Psalm 103:2-5
Praise the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits -
who forgives all your sons
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed
Like The Eagle's.

The photo below has all 4 eagles hiding in it.
Happy 4th of July!
